Remember, you can apply a reading skill in anything you read and in every subject area. Currently, our class is working on:

Focus Skill of November:
SUMMARIZING

 
Summarize means to write the main idea of what is read or researched.

Parents can help support this skill in several ways. Try these strategies at home:
*Ask your child to tell about their day at school.
*Read at bedtime, the discuss what the chapter or book was about.
*After a movie, ask your child what the lesson or theme of the movie was.
